Lib3rtine is currently changing cat images on a number of pages. In the case of the American shorthair image change, I am nuetral. Could people please compare the current image with that in the history and discuss if a revert is desired? LinaMishima 18:46, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

The image that Lib3rtine added to this article is unfortunately restricted to non-commercial use only, which goes against our image use policy. I'm about to delete it. FreplySpang 21:22, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Ok, upload it here again then with the correct licence information, then place it and the previous image in here as thumbnails to be discussed. Although it would be nice to say a your image to the article as well, this would set a dangerous precident, sadly :( LinaMishima 00:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Old main image was terrible

I thought this website was supposed to look professional. Why are there such terrible pictures on so many articles? I changed it to a better picture of an american shorthair cat. Go ahead, revert it to the circa-1995 digital camera look of the last picture.

Since the image Lib3rtine replaced the old image with was their own, there could potentially be an aspect of bias in thier opinions. Hence on the left is the lib3rtine's image, and on the right is the old image:

• Does either one or both images significantly contribute to detailing the American Shorthair breed?
• Are there any other problems with both of them?
• Should only one image be used on the article, or both?

Given the {regphoto} tag, I suspect both photos should be present. In which case, which one provides the better example of an American shorthair? LinaMishima 00:23, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

I think that if you want a photo of good example of the breed you should ask an american shorthair breeder for a photo. For a comparison of fine example of the breed I would check out this link [[1]]--88.152.203.175 20:37, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changed the photo

I was a short-term (2 yrs) American Shorthair breeder, with CFA registered cats. I added photos of 2 of my cats (one a young kitten) to the website. I took both of these photos, one of which, the kitten shot, has been in a pet magazine article featuring the breed.

I hope other people will feel free to add photos and more info if they'd like. This is a rather short article. I'm not that great a writer though. =-)
