From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Aleah Scheick (born 28 August 1982) is a beauty queen and aspiring sportscaster.
Scheick won the Miss Alaska USA crown in late 2004, and represented Alaska in the Miss USA 2005 pageant held in Baltimore, Maryland in April 2005. She failed not make the cut at the pageant, which was won by Chelsea Cooley of North Carolina. Scheick had previously placed in the top five in the Miss Alaska USA 2004 pageant won by Cari Leyva.
Scheick, who is originally from Brooklyn, Michigan, has pursued a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Alaska Anchorage, aided by the scholarship she received from winning the Miss Alaska USA pageant. Her ambition is to be a broadcaster on ESPN and her particular passion is ice hockey. Her work has included hosting Around the WCHA on cable channel KMDM, camera time with ESPN2 at the 2003 Great Alaska Shootout for the Duke and Purdue Championship game and intermission reports at Seawolf hockey games.[1]
Scheick's interests include traveling and working with children, which she has combined by working as a nanny in Italy on two occasions. In 2006, this work allowed her to experience the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, which she reported on for The Northern Light, an independent newspaper of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
On 4 November 2006, Scheick passed on her Miss Alaska USA crown to Noelle Meyer of Fairbanks.
