[edit] Plot synopsis
The previous episode ends with the Sheriff's son, William Bullock is struck by the Nigger General's escaped horse, this episode resumes showing that William is comatose and unable to respond with anything more than a moan. Swearengen convinces the Dakotan powers that Sheriff Bullock's alleged meeting will result in the imminent annexation of Deadwood to the Montana-Helena territories. This results in Cy Tolliver contemplating with his group, the bribing of Swearengen and his inclusion in their plots. All of this drama is an effort in Swearengen's plot to get open elections to include a Deadwood candidate in the imminent American Annexation of Deadwood.
The episode concludes with the introduction of a new character, a new reverend.
