From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Accra Sports Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Accra, Ghana. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It also has an athletics track. The stadium has a capacity of 35,000 people. The stadium was renamed after Ohene Djan in 2004, the first director of sports in indepenent Ghana. This renaming was quite controversial and oppossed by many in Accra's Ga community who felt like a prominent Ga should be given the honor since the stadium is a center piece of downtown Accra.Source
