On wikipedia, we use American spellings for American topics and Commonwealth spellings for British, Australian, and Indian topics. - Please don't be upset, editors make mistakes all the time......consider creating an account, I'll be happy to help you get started and provide you with pointers about editing and whatnot. You also may want to check out Wikipedia:Manual of Style/(spelling) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National varieties of English. I'm sorry I came off as harsh before. Wikipedia needs dedicated contributors like yourself. There's nothing to an account, really, except for a username and a password, and it'll give you an identity in the community.......anyway, I'm moving your comment to my talkpage, I'm sorry about the confusing Advise me/talk thing. Please stop changing the spelling of words on Fahrenheit 9/11. The subject is American, so policy is to use American spellings. AlistairMcMillan 01:21, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Advice: English dialects on Wikipedia: Wikipedia has millions of readers; some use American English, or British English, or International English, or any of numerous other local forms from Australia, Canada, Ireland etc. Because of this, Wikipedia has a policy of respecting articles written in whatever form of English the original author of the article used.
The guidelines are simple. For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.
In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, just ask anyone on Wikipedia and they will help you. Enjoy your time on the internet's fastest growing encyclopædia/encyclopedia

Please do not change articles from American English to British English, or from British English to American English, where the article was originally written in the form of English native to that country. Wikipedia accepts articles in both forms of English. If an article is about either country it is supposed to be written in that country's English.
Also please leave the date format in the form native to that country (dd/mm/yy for British/Australian/Irish etc topics, mm/dd/yy for American topics). If the topic is international, please leave in the form the article was written in originally. Many users become offended if their native English is deleted from articles about their country, and replaced with someone else's form of English or form of dates. --Dfeuer 20:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
