Zherdevka (Russian: Жердевка) is a town in Tambov Oblast, Russia, located on the Savala River (Khopyor's tributary) some 128 km south of Tambov. Population: 16,100 (2005 est.); 16,557 (2002 Census); 19,218 (1989 Census).
Zherdevka was founded in 1954 after the merging of a railroad station called Zherdevka (opened in 1869), a settlement near a sugar factory (built in 1937), and a settlement of Chibizovka. The name of the town derives from a nearby village of Zherdevka, located eight kilometers away from it.
