Marco Cassetti is an Italian defender, though he sometimes plays as a midfielder, who currently plays for A.S. Roma.
Cassetti started his football career at Montichiari, an amateur-level club inside the province of Brescia. In his two seasons with them he achieved thirty caps and six goals. He then moved on to a Serie C1 team, Lumezzane, where he also stayed for two years. His debut in the Serie A was with Hellas Verona, when they drew Bari 1-1. He was often a sub in his first two years with them, but a starter the next year as they were relegated to the Serie B. After that he was a typical starter for Lecce, and played with them for three seasons. Cassetti has been capped for Italian national team twice, in a friendly against Iceland and Ecuador in 2005.
In the summer of 2006, Cassetti left Lecce for a four-year contract with A.S. Roma on a co-ownership deal for €1.5m due to Lecce's relegation.
