Estadio Metropolitano

Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez is a multi-use stadium in Barranquilla, Colombia. The stadium holds 60,000. It was built for the failed World Cup Colombia 86. It was inaugurated in 1986 with the game Uruguay vs. Atletico Junior, which the Uruguayans won 2-1. The first official name of the stadium was "Estadio Metropolitano", which was changed around 1991 in order to honor the glory of Colombian football: Mr. Roberto Melendez. This is the official stadium for the national football team of Colombia.
It is well known for the selling of churros in the grandstand.
