Herodotus of Halikarnassos (Halikarnassos is spelled many different ways such as,"Halikarnassus", or,"Halicarnassus", due to greek translation) was a Dorian man who lived between 484 BC and 425 BC. He was born to an upper-class family began his life in Halicarnassus, a city in south-west Asia Minor. Herodotus is considered by many to be the "Father of History" for his written accounts of the histories of the civilizations of Babylon, Egypt, and Persia, written many epilogs, and is most Famouse for recording information on the Greco-Persian war. On the war he recorded things such as its roots and happenings. He wrote the worlds first great naritive history. He was one of the few Greek/Roman historians who took pride in his work, and made sure his recordins where valid. He relied a great deal on what he was told by citizens, witnesses of events, locals, ect., but evalusted them as well as humanly possible at the time, before adding them to his hitorical documents.
