Leaf
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
In botany, a leaf is an above-ground plant organ used for photosynthesis. A leaf is often flat in order to absorb the most light, and thin so that the sunlight will shine through it. Leaves also store food and water. The leaves of some plants also can do other, specific things.
In many parts of the world, when the season changes to autumn, leaves will change colour and fall off. The leaves grow back in the spring.
