Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde idazle anglo-irlandarra 1854ko urriaren 16an jaio zen Dublinen (Irlanda). Londonen eta Parisen bizi izan zen hainbat urtez.

Idazle moduan, ingelesez hartan arazoak ekarri zizkion. Izan ere, 1895ean kartzeleratu zuten "lotsagabekeria larria"gatik.

1900eko azaroaren 30ean hil zen Parisen, meningitisak jota.
