Deuterocanonical
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
Deuterocanonical means "second canon" in Greek. It usually means the parts of the Bible that are only used by some Christian religions (mostly Catholic and Orthodox). The books were not part of the Jewish Tanakh (also called the Hebrew Bible). Some books considered deuterocanonical by Catholics are:
- The Book of Judith
- The Wisdom of Solomon.
Most Protestant Christian religions call the deuterocanonical books "the Apocrypha".
