Hi! Thanks for dropping in. The pms press contact is going to be me, as I am in charge of all the english and russian PR interface. We'll soon state different users for interfacing with german, spanish and french speakers. BTW, the direct link to my pms page is going to expire soon, since we are almost finished with the interface tranlastion, if the link gets broken just use the stable version, that will be working on the piedmontese interface. In the final main page version there will be a english space on the first page, pointing foreign users to a press/embassy area, from where they'll be able to reach all contacts directly. In the meantime we can use this.
IMPORTANT: in the next months I shall myself be writing an article for an italian newspaper about wiki editions in non-govt languages. Personally I'd really like to have them for future press contacts, also. The pms wiki shall be called wiki, in anyway. Hi! It seems that there are not too much info on the net about this branch of Roma people and my personal connections couldn't help me too much since I am from Romania. I found only this list of Romani organizations in Italy.
What I know about the Sinti people is that they are a part of the first Roma who arrive in the Western Europe in the 15th century. They became a branch with particular features in the area of the contemporary German-speaking countries. Here their Romani language suffered influence from the German one and also they developed particular cultural traits, due to isolation from other Romani groups. Subsequently, Sinti groups emigrated in contemporary France, where they mixed with the local Manush branch. In Italy they arrived either directly from Austria or from France. Here they separated in more branches, corresponding to the territory where they lived: Sinti Markijani (Marches), Veneti, Lombardi, of course Piedmontesi and other. The Piedmontesi emmigrated further in Southern France.
The link you gave me is the first text I see in Piedmontese Sinti and it seems to belong to the first stratum (the older of the three strata) of Romani dialects. I don't know if the French words are because of a previos passage through France before entering Italy or that the text come from Piedmontese living in France. If sometimes appear Sinti, othertimes Sinto is because "-o" ends the masculine grammatical gender and "-i" the feminine.
The book I used as reference for a part of these few informations is "Roma, Tsiganes, Voyageurs" by Jean-Pierre Liégeois, Conseil de l'Europe, 1994, ISBN 92-871-2348-9

Mi pare di capire che sei un admin di questo progetto, e volevo suggerirti di proporre nella comunità una discussione per chiudere l'upload locale, ed usare solo Commons per questo. Su nap:wiki è in corso la stessa discussione, e probabilmente il 24 Aprile sarà chiuso l'upload. Da parte mia (sono attualmente l'unico admin di lingua madre italiana su Commons) c'è la massima disponibilità per chiarimenti, dubbi, e supporti di ogni specie. Buongiorno, mi chiamo Vittorio Bertola, ho appena scoperto la versione piemontese di Wikipedia (eccellente). Purtroppo sono molto scarso in Piemontese, ma tengo molto alla nostra lingua; siccome partecipo spesso a vari eventi internazionali, è da qualche mese che sto pensando di chiedere la creazione dei codici ISO 639-1 e -2 ufficiali per il Piemontese. Questo permetterebbe di identificare il Piemontese in modo univoco in tutti i sistemi informatici, e quindi di aiutare la sua diffusione su Internet e la sua rinascita. Mi sto occupando di raccogliere documentazione, perchè mentre ottenere il -2 (quello di tre lettere, anche "pms" se volete, oppure "pie" o "pmn") è facile, ottenere il -1 (quello di due lettere, come "it" per l'italiano) è molto meno facile, richiede di provare l'uso corrente della lingua e l'esistenza di materiale specialistico come libri di testo e terminologie specializzate. Però se ce l'hanno fatta il Sardo, l'Occitano e l'Aragonese non vedo perchè non dobbiamo farcela noi. In questo senso, la Wikipedia piemontese può essere di grande aiuto... Non so se chi ha avuto l'idea di questo sito abbia pensato anche a questo aspetto, per favore possiamo parlarne un attimo? Io stavo giusto per iniziare la pratica, ma meglio sincronizzarsi. Hi Berto, as you probably already know now you can add terminology in Piedmontese to WiktionaryZ - today I simply used one of the articles I saw in the recent changes here: http://wiktionaryz.org/WiktionaryZ:Senegal well, I believe it is fun to do so. On the Neapolitan wikipedia I also started to add this template to artilces - one example the one about Rome. Maybe you could transfer the same template here. At a certain stage we will be able to add interwiki-links from WiktionaryZ to Wikipedia - this means that we can link from the Piedmontese entry on WiktionaryZ to this Wikipedia.
