Blitzkrieg (from the German meaning lightning war) is a form of warfare involving fast movement. It was most famously used by the German army in World War II during the invasions of France, Poland and the Soviet Union
In Blitzkrieg a few fast-moving units with tanks and supported by aircraft overrun or surround slower moving units, often capturing them with little actual fighting.
