‏ڳڻپيوڪرَ جُڙِي ور اڏاوَتَ موئن جي دڙي جي هڪ ننڍِڙي حصي کي وري جيئاري ڇڏيو آھي. (Lost Civilizations by Austen Atkinson, p. 179 - 188)

هڙپا وانگي، موئن جو دڙو پڻ سکر سنڌ کان 80 ڪلوميٽر پري ڏکڻ اولهه ۾ واقع سنڌو تهذيبَ جو شهر ھو. اھو يونيسڪو طرفان عالمي ورثو قرار ڏنو ويو آهي. اهو هڙپا کان ڪي قدر بهتر سانڍيو سنڀاليو ويو آهي، تنهنڪري اهو پنهنجي تهذيب جي بهتر عڪاسي ڪري ٿو. هڙپا کان موئن جو دڙو 400 ميل پري آھي. اھو چار ھزار کان پنج هزار سال اڳ تعمير ڪيو ويو هو ۽ لڳ ڀڳ 1700 ق م ڌاري غير آباد ٿي ويو، جنهن جو سبب شايد سنڌو درياءَ جو رخ مٽائڻ آهي، جيڪو ان تهذيب لاءِ جياپي جو ذريعو هو. ونگڀياسدانن ان کي 1920ع واري ڏهاڪي ۾ دريافت ڪيو.

قدامت جي لحاظ کان موئن جو دڙو قابل ذڪر غير معمولي شهر آهي. ان جو نقشو رٿابنديل آهي، جنهن ۾ گھٽين جو تاڃيپيٽو آهي ۽ مٽيءَ جي پڪل ۽ اس تي سڪايل سِرُن ۽ سڙيل ڪاٺ سان اڏاوت ٿيل آهي. پنهنجي عروج وقت، شهر جي آبادي 35 کان 40 هزار هئي. ان کي تنهن دور جو جديد ترين نڪاسي سرشتو هو.

 It had an advanced drainage system, a variety of buildings up to two stories high and an elaborate bath area. The bath area was very well built and had a layer of natural tar, to keep it from leaking. Being an agricultural city, it also featured a large well, granary, and central marketplace.

Perhaps most unexpected, it even had a building with an underground furnace (hypocaust), possibly for heated bathing.

Mohenjo-daro was successively destroyed and rebuilt at least seven times. Each time, the new cities were built directly on top of the old ones. Flooding by the Indus is thought to have been the cause of destruction.

The city was divided into two parts, the Citadel and the Lower City. Most of the Lower City is yet uncovered, but the Citadel is known to have the public bath, a large residential structure designed to house 5,000 citizens and two large assembly halls.
