Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design er et norsk statlig museum etablert i 2003 gjennom sammenslåingen av Arkitekturmuseet, Kunstindustrimuseet, Museet for samtidskunst, Nasjonalgalleriet og Riksutstillinger. Første direktør for Nasjonalmuseet var svenske Sune Nordgren (frem til august 2006).

Nasjonalgalleriet ble etablert i 1842 som Den norske stats sentralmuseum for billedkunst. Siden 1882 har det hatt tilhold i Universitetsgaten, Oslo, i et bygg tegnet av Heinrich Ernst og Adolf Schirmer. Museet har en særlig god samling av norsk nasjonalromantikks malerkunst, og av Edvard Munchs bilder.
I 1990 ble museets samlinger fra etter 1945 overført til det nyetablerte Museet for samtidskunst.
En omorganisering av museets basissamling vinteren 2004/05 førte til sterke reaksjoner, men også til økt besøk.
