Brian Eno

Brian Eno (Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno eller bare Eno, født 15. mai 1948 i Woodbridge, Suffolk) er en britisk musiker. Han regnes som grunnleggeren av musikkstilen ambient.

Sin musikalske karriere grunnla han i Roxy Music som han startet sammen med Bryan Ferry. Etter to album sluttet han i Roxy Music og startet en solokarriere. De tidligste soloalbumene består av vokalpop, mens platene etter Before and After Science (1978) hovedsakelig er instrumentale. I 2005 vendte han tilbake til sangen med albumet Another Day on Earth.

Eno har samarbeidet med og produsert plater for mange andre musikere som Robert Fripp, John Cale, Nico, Camel, Robert Wyatt, U2, Ultravox og Talking Heads. Han var med som musiker og delvis som medkomponist på tre av David Bowies mest innflytelsesrike album på slutten av 70-tallet. De gjenopptok samarbeidet på Outside fra 1995, der Eno også var medprodusent. I 1978 satte han sammen samlealbumet No New York, som dokumenterer den innflytelsesrike no wave-scenen i New York med artister som James Chance og Lydia Lunch.

I 1994 ble han bedt om å komponere startmelodien til Windows 95. Dette gjorde han - på sin Apple Macintosh.
