Leif Garrett, nome d'arte di Leif Per Nervik (Hollywood, 8 novembre 1961) è un cantante ed attore statunitense che durante gli anni '70 fu un idolo dei teenagers.
Figlio di aspiranti attori, Leif debuttò nel mondo del cinema a cinque anni nel film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice del 1969. Lavorò anche insieme alla sorella attrice Dawn prima di diventare una star e di diventare guest star in numerose serie tv. Nell’autunno del 1976, Leif decise di diventare un cantante e firmò un contratto con la Atlantic Records, con la quale registrò il suo primo album, Leif Garrett nel 1977. Dopo aver realizzato altri 4 album, Leif lasciò la sua carriera musicale per fare ritorno al cinema. Nel 1979, tre giorni prima del suo diciottesimo compleanno, Leif fu vittima di un incidente automobilistico nel quale rimase paralizzato il suo miglior amico Roland Winkler, che era suo passeggero. Anni dopo Leif dovette pagare 7 milioni di dollari all’amico come risarcimento per i danni subiti. Non avendo più successo nel cinema, Leif lo lasciò per fare ritorno alla musica. Il 14 Gennaio 2006, venne arrestato a Los Angeles in California per possesso di droghe.
Curiosità
Sua madre, Carolin Underwood è una sceneggiatrice che ha recitato in alcuni film col nome di Carolyn Stellar.
Suo padre, Rick Nervick, è un cameraman della CBS.
Fidanzato dal 1979 al 1985 con l’attrice Nicollette Sheridan e dalla fine degli anni ’80 all’inizio degli anni ’90 con l’attrice Justine Bateman.
