Robert Graves - Wikipedia

Robert Graves

Na Galipedia, a wikipedia en galego.

Robert von Ranke Graves (Wimbledon 1895 – Deià 1985) foi un escritor inglés, fillo do escritor irlandés Alfred Perceval Graves e de Amalie von Ranke Graves, descendente do historiador alemán Leopold von Ranke.
Escriben xuntos dúas obras académicas, A Survey of Modernist Poetry (1927) and A Pamphlet Against Anthologies (1928), que terán ampla influencia na crítica literaria moderna. En 1927 publica, T. E. Lawrence, Lawrence and the Arabs, unha biografía de Lawrence de Arabia con éxito comercial.
En 1941 publica The Long Week-End, en colaboración con Alan Hodge, con el tamén publica The Reader Over Your Shoulder (1944), revisado en 1947 como The Use and Abuse of the English Language.
En 1948 publica a controvertida The White Goddess. En 1955 edita unha versión anotada de The Greek Myths. En 1956 publica un volume de relatos Catacrok! Mostly Stories, Mostly Funny.
