UK Style was launched on 1st November 1997. Along with the rest of the network, the "UK" prefix was changed to UKTV on 8th March 2004 and is thus now known as UKTV Style.
The channel is available on Satellite (BSkyB) and Cable platforms. The channel is also available on digital terrestrial television through the Top Up TV pay-tv service from 1pm to 4pm on channel 26. Pre May 2002, UK Style was carried on ITV Digital channel 38 for 24 hours a day.
[edit] Programmes
The output of the channel shows lifestyle programmes (mainly image, home improvements and DIY shows) that are a combination of internally produced shows and repeats of shows from the BBC archive. Before the launch of UK Food, it also showed many cookery programmes and gardening programmes, however these now all reside on the new channels UKTV Food and UKTV Style Gardens respectively.
