UKTV History, known as UK History until 8th March 2004, is a British television channel, launched on 30th October 2002, to coincide with the launch of the Freeview digital terrestrial television platform.
The channel is available on digital terrestrial television (Freeview), Satellite (BSkyB) and Cable platforms. UKTV History operates as a subscription service on Digital Satellite and Cable but is available free to air on the Freeview platform. A timeshifted "+1", UKTV History +1 service is also available on some platforms.
The channel shows a wide variety of history and natural history documentaries and biographies mainly from the BBC archives.
