注意力

注意是一个心理学概念，是一种导致局部刺激的意识水平提高的知觉集中， 属于认知过程的一部分。例如学生侧耳倾听教师讲课，同时忽略室外其他的无关刺激。许多时候，必须在同一时间将注意分配给两种以上的活动，如一边开车，一边打手机。 (不要真的这样去做)

注意是心理学中研究最热门的题目之一。

在詹姆士的时代，只有一种研究注意的方法：内省法。在注意研究方面的成就很少， 尽管西格蒙德弗洛伊德、Walter Benjamin和Max Nordau都认为这是智力研究的主要领域。例如，这一时期一个主要的争论是是否可能同时注意2个事物(注意的分配).一些人觉得他们做不到，另一些人说他们可以。没有实验，解决这个争论是不可能的。
