Sound card
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
A sound card is the part of the computer that controls the sound, both going in and out. It is what allows music to play and a microphone to record sound on the computer’s memory.
A sound card is what is known as an expansion card. This means that the card can be added to the motherboard to allow sound to work properly. Most computers now have the sound card built into the system, but there are other computers, more the older systems, that require the expansion card.
