Mesopotamia
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
Mesopotamia (from Greek meaning "between the rivers") was the region where parts of Iraq, eastern Syria, and southeastern Turkey are now, between the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers. The area is often called the "Cradle of Civilization", since it was here that the first writing developed in about 3000 BC.
