The Liancourt Rocks is a group of small islands in the East Sea. Currently South Korea is controlling the islands. Japan sees the islands as their territory, so there is a dispute between the two countries concerning the islands. The group is made up of two islands. It is surrounded by water that is rich with fish and natural resources. In Japan, it is called Takeshima. In Korea, it is called Dokdo. The name Liancourt Rocks is rarely used for the islands.
