Ekoton

Ekoton (gr. oikos = dom + tonos = napinanie) stanowi strefę przejściową na granicy dwóch (lub większej liczby) różnych biocenoz, np. biocenozy lasu i biocenozy łąki. Zamieszkują go organizmy charakterystyczne dla obu biocenoz oraz takie, które są swoiste tylko dla tej strefy. Obszary te charakteryzują się dużą bioróżnorodnością.
