Disturbed es una banda metal, formada en 1996 cuando Dan Donegan, Steve "Fuzz" Kmak y Mike Wengren se juntaron con el vocalista David Draiman en Chicago, Illinois. Draiman sugirió el nombre de la banda.

[editar] Historia del Grupo
El grupo se formó cuando David Draiman respondió a un anuncio de búsqueda de un cantante y los miembros de grupo le aceptaron.
La banda trabajó muy duro en los primeros años, grabando dos demos EPs los cuales fueron enviadas a distintas discografías. Mandaron los 2 EP a las distintas discografías para demostrar su calidad musical y que el otro EP no les salió de casualidad. La banda tuvo éxito al salir su single "Stupify" al 2000 y seguidamente el álbum The Sickness. El álbum los lanzó al éxito. Después de participar en el Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzfest tour en el 2001, la banda empezó con el "Music as a Weapon" Tour.
En octubre del 2002, su segundo álbum Believe debutó como un gran éxito estando entre los número 1 de las listas de éxitos, y al 2003, el grupo participó en el Ozzfest tour otra vez.
Han estado recientemente de gira con 10 Years y Ill Niño presentando su tercer album Ten Thousand Fists, lanzado mundialmente el 20 de septiembre de 2005. Debutó en el número 1 en EEUU. Además de Ten Thousand Fists el grupo ha lanzado las canciones Hell y Monster aunque Monster no está ya disponible porque la oferta de itunes que había ha expirado. Pero Hell se puede escuchar en su sitio web myspace. Hubo una gira europea programada que tuvo que ser aplazada dos veces debido a problemas con la voz de David Draiman. The band's singer recently became embroiled in the music filesharing controversy by publicly speaking out against the RIAA's lawsuits against filesharing individuals, despite the fact his record label is a member of the RIAA.

On January 7, Draiman said, on a radio show in Seattle, that it "looks" like Disturbed would be on this year's Ozzfest. However, he later said in an interview on January 30 that he never said anything like that to anyone, contradicting his previous statement. Draiman's conflicting statements led to an uproar of criticism from a few fans on Disturbed's official messageboard. This resulted in the shut down of the online community by the band and their management. Although no official statement from the band or management has been made, it is reported by such sources as Blabbermouth.net that Draiman feels that the online community, which had grown to 8,000 has become a source of frustration for the band due to ongoing criticism and quarreling.
After all of this controversy, Disturbed was confirmed as an Ozzfest band, and will be headlining on the main stage.)))
