The Zambia national rugby union team is a third tier rugby union side representing Zambia. They first played in 1975 and now compete in the Africa Cup. They have yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup. Rugby union in Zambia is administered by the Zambia Rugby Union. One of the greatest players all-time, Australia national team player George Gregan is born in Zambia. Zambia improves a lot in the past five years thanks to the CAR tournaments. Their best players all play in the Super 14, with their inside-centre, Michael James Mawdsley, their all-time record points scorer, with 4 international tries to his name in 8 caps, along with 20 conversions and 4 drop goals, giving him the total of 62 points scorered. He currently plays in the Zambian league, for Mawaki Wanderers. Up front they have to of the biggest props in the game with James Bell and Desmond Woods reaching the combined total of 400 kg between themselves. Their greatest result was against New Zealand Maori when they lost 10-7, with Mawdsley scoring the greatest try of all Zambian time. He first took on Flutey from a small grubber through from Donald Makaa, the 10, stepping the New Zealander. Then breaking 3 tackles on his own 22, he burst through into the open space behind the Maori defensive line. MacDonald, in his first cap for the Maori rushed to meet him. Mawdlsey in his intense genius chipped the ball over the advancing full-back raced onto the ball, jumped over the attempted tap-tackles from Sivivatu on the right wing to score in the centre.
