[edit] X-Men

The X-Men is a taskforce from the Xavier Institute, charged with protecting both humans and mutants and trying to prevent a war between the two.

  • Hugh Jackman as Logan / Wolverine: Logan can heal quickly, a talent which allowed the painful implantation of a metal coating on his bones and metal claws that emerge from each hand. He mourns Jean Grey, whom he misses.
  • Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe / Storm: She can control the weather and fly. Halle Berry stated during interviews for X2 that she would not return as Storm in the third film unless the character had a significant presence comparable to the comic-book version. Brett Ratner also felt Storm required a larger role and there was little difficulty reaching an agreement.[1]
  • Famke Janssen as Jean Grey: A former member of the X-Men who sacrificed herself to save her comrades. She possesses great telekinetic and telepathic powers. After being revived, her powers consume her and she joins the Brotherhood.
  • Anna Paquin as Marie / Rogue: A runaway mutant who has found a home at Xavier's school and love with Bobby Drake. When she touches someone she absorbs their strength, their powers, and, if not careful, their life.
  • Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy / Beast: A former student of Xavier's School who is now the Secretary of Mutant Affairs in the U.S. government. The Beast is covered in blue fur and has a genius level I.Q., and heightened strength and agility. Filmmakers considered using the Beast character since the first X-Men movie, but budget constraints ruled him out; however, Steve Bacic is identified as Hank McCoy when he appears on a television screen in a cameo role in X2.
  • Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler: A German Catholic mutant with the ability to teleport. His appearance is demonic, however he's a kind-hearted and passifistic man. He has only appeared in X2, but he's the one of the three main characters in X-Men: The Official Game.
  • Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake / Iceman: He can control the temperature of the moisture in the air around him to create constructs of ice or blasts of cold. Under extreme conditions, his body may take on many of the characteristics of ice in addition to those of a human.
  • Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde: She can "phase" through objects, which allows her to walk through walls and float through floors.

[edit] Brotherhood of Mutants

  • Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto: Master of magnetism, Holocaust survivor, and would-be conqueror, Magneto wages war against humanity in the name of mutant superiority, a goal that often pits him against his old friend Charles Xavier.
  • Tyler Mane as Sabretooth: One of the first Brotherhood members, he has feline-like abilities and senses. He was blasted through the head of the Statue of Liberty by Cyclops following a brief battle with Wolverine.
  • Ray Park as Toad: Toad is also one of the first Brotherhood members. He has frog-like abilities, including a prehensile tongue, incredible jumping abilities, and the ability to stick to surfaces. He is blown into the sea around Liberty Island by Storm after she shocks him through his tongue with lightning.
  • Aaron Stanford as John Allerdyce / Pyro: Former Xavier Institute student Pyro can manipulate fire but cannot create it. He holds a grudge against his former friend Bobby Drake.
  • Dania Ramirez as Callisto: Callisto possesses superhuman speed. She can sense the powers of other mutants, and locate them.
  • Ken Leung as Quill (erroneously called Kid Omega in the credits): Quill has porcupine-like spikes over his entire body which he can retract or extend at will.

[edit] Other characters

  • Brian Cox as Colonel William Stryker: Stryker is the head of Weapon X, a project dedicated to experimenting on mutants. Stryker is hardly responsible for Wolverine's shadowed past, he also used his mutant son Jason Stryker to control Xavier's mind.
  • Kelly Hu as Yuriko Oyama / Lady Deathstrike: Althrough she's a mutant, she's part of the Weapon X Project. She has the same mutant abilities Wolverine does. She is Stryker's bodyguard in the film.
  • Bruce Davison as Senator Robert Kelly: Senator Kelly is an anti-mutant believer. He is kidnapped by Magneto and subjected to a process that transforms him into a mutate (although he is erroneously called a mutant in the X-Men movie) with the ability to polymerise himself. Unknown to all, the process is ultimately fatal, and Kelly dies in the custody of the X-Men. He was subsequently impersonated by Mystique in X2.
  • Michael Murphy as Warren Worthington II: He is the Head of Worthington Labs, the corporation developing the "cure". He is also Angel's father and wants to rid his son of his mutant abilities.
  • Cameron Bright as Jimmy / Leech: A mutant boy whose power cancels the powers of nearby mutants. His DNA is the basis for the "cure". After being rescued, he is admitted to the Xavier Institute.

[edit] X-Men: The Official Game (2006)

X-Men: The Official Game is a 2006 tie-in videogame that covers the events between X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. The only three playable characters are Wolverine (voiced by Hugh Jackman), Nightcrawler (voiced by Alan Cumming), and Iceman (voiced by Shawn Ashmore). The game's plot explains why Nightcrawler left the X-Men and Pyro joined The Brotherhood.
