WWE No Way Out

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No Way Out is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by World Wrestling Entertainment, which started in 1998, excluding 1999. As of 2004, No Way Out is a SmackDown! exclusive event. No Way Out was replaced by St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999. When the No Way Out PPV first started out in 1998, the name was created as a play on World Championship Wrestling's (WCW's) nWo name[citation needed]. However, WCW threatened legal action unless the WWF changed the PPV's name[citation needed]; the WWF responded by naming the PPV No Way Out Of Texas, since the PPV was to take place in Texas. It was the second WWF PPV to be named after the state of Texas (Tuesday in Texas was the other).
