WRMD-LP is a low-powered, Class-A Telemundo station. The station had its start in the early-1990s on channel 57 as a Channel America affiliate, which didn't last long in Tampa. Shortly afterward, ZGS acquired the station, which they used to launch Telemundo into Tampa Bay. Telemundo was on channel 57 until the early-2000s, when they relocated to channel 49, to make room for WTTA's new digital signal on channel 57.

WRMD has a ten minute update of the local news at 6:00 p.m. each evening. It is taped earlier in the day at the studios of WTVT.

WRMD is seen in Hillsborough County on Bright House channel 13. In 2004, it was expanded to other Bright House Systems in the Tampa Bay market -- in Pinellas County, it can be seen on channel 76.

On February 19, 2009, which is the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, WRMD-LP will be required to turn off its analog signal and turn on its digital signal (called a "flash-cut").
