[edit] Summary

Dimmsdale Elementary's Friday the 13th dance is one day away and Timmy Turner can't find a date - at least not in his universe. With one wish, Timmy heads back to Retroville, Texas, bringing with him his fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, where Cindy Vortex (whom Timmy fell in love with in the previous Power Hour) awaits. However, Jimmy Neutron was planning to ask Cindy to be his date to the Lindbergh Elementary dance, which is also on Friday the 13th. The boys engage in a duel of magic vs. science, attracting the attention of Jimmy's nemesis, Professor Calamitous (who is the only villain, so far, that was able to escape from the Cretaceous Period in the JN episode The League of Villains). Cosmo and Wanda's lightning fast wish-granting dazzles Nathan; at long last, he has found the perfect partners to help him destroy Jimmy. When the duel ends with Timmy as the victor, Cindy is whisked off to Dimmsdale, but that doesn't stop the ever-efficient boy genius from using his Wormhole Generator to quickly follow them with Carl, Sheen and Libby tagging along. But unbeknownst to everyone, Calamitous also follows them to Dimmsdale with the intention of capturing Cosmo and Wanda.

Upon arriving in Dimmsdale, California, Calamitous inadvertently sets off a string of unlucky mishaps (flying under a bunch of ladders, then destroying a Mirror Factory and a Black Cat Adoption Agency) that promptly brings the villainous Anti-Cosmo, who has been on the run since the FOP episode "The Gland Plan", onto the scene. The impromptu meeting turns out to be an extremely fortuitous one for both bad guys: Anti-Cosmo can use Calamitous to free his cohorts, the bad-luck-inducing Anti-Fairies, from the maximum security Fairy World Prison (which is impenetrable by anyone from the OddParents universe) and Calamitous can finally defeat Jimmy Neutron with the help of his new magical collaborator - or can he? Immediately after the prison break, Anti-Cosmo betrays Calamitous and locks him and Jorgen Von Strangle in a jail cell. Now that the Anti-Fairies are free, they can halt the Earth's rotation, making every day Friday the 13th and spread their bad luck all over the world. Once the children recapture every last Anti-Fairy, including Anti-Cosmo, with help from Jimmy's Hyper-Cube (which Calamitous stole from his lab) and Timmy's butterfly net, Timmy shows off a little with A.J's Gene-Splicing Ray Gun, causing the gun's rays to accidentally hit Calamitous and Jorgen (who were able to escape from the jail cell and were trying to get the Anti-Fairy-filled Hyper-Cube for their own means), fusing them together into a single body. With complete control over Jorgen's body and magical powers, Nathan edge attempts to destroy Jimmy and Timmy (actually turning them into snails, unbeknownst to him), kidnaps Cindy and heads back to Retroville.

Upon returning to Retroville, Calamitous terrorizes the citizens with prehistoric creatures, imprisons Jimmy's parents and Goddard in carbonite and creates a giant Big Bang Bomb that will revert the Earth to its original state, allowing Calamitous to remake it in his own glorious image. Jimmy and Timmy arrive soon afterwards (as humans) with their friends, rescue Cindy and discover that Jorgen can break out of Calamitous' control when he is angry. With this knowledge, they begin to wish for things that violate Da Rules. However, in order for their plan to work, they need to find people who are considered as "loose cannons"; sure enough, Cosmo and Sheen are chosen to distract Calamitous. After Sheen is given fairy powers, they begin to create havoc with their magic. First, Sheen and Cosmo fly a jet-propelled hotdog around Jorgen and Calamitous, which starts to get Jorgen angry. The second thing they do, and the first rule they break, is to make Carl fall in love with a turkey (violating the rule that you cannot use magic to make people fall in love with anything, especially poultry). The second is Timmy wishing Cosmo could beat Sheen at rock-paper-scissors (violating the rule that you cannot use magic to win any sort of competition, even one as stupid as rock-paper-scissors). The last rule violated is Jimmy wishing Timmy was gone (in which Timmy plays dead as his part), which makes Jorgen furious and gives him control long enough that Jimmy is able to un-splice him and Calamitous. With his powers now back under his control, Jorgen then stops the bomb, shrinks Calamitous and traps him in a bottle and fixes everything else.

At this moment in time, Cindy realizes that Timmy isn't a genius and is conflicted on who she wishes to take to the dance. Jorgen offers to help her with her "puny and stupid problem" and creates a Trans-Dimensional Rift in Jimmy's school, making half of the dance 3-D and the other half 2-D, which also allows Cindy to jump through the rift at will and dance with both Jimmy and Timmy, though they still fight over her on who "gets her now" and who's "turn was up."

[edit] Trivia

  • Though Cindy appears to like Timmy and Jimmy equally, she loves Jimmy and only likes Timmy. This was admitted by director Keith Alcorn and special productions manager Benjamin Gilberg. Cindy picked Timmy as well as Jimmy in an attempt to not hurt Timmy's feelings. She does love Jimmy, but she just didn't want to make a decision. She is revelling in the idea of two boys fighting over her, and apparently prefers that to choosing a man on her own. Writer Steve Marmel, in a telephone conversation, admitted that he is a Timmy Turner fan and said that Cindy likes them both because they are "good guys." He further stated that just because she "is crushing on Timmy, it doesn't mean she doesn't love Jimmy." Being that she carved "J+C forever" into a tree, allowed Jimmy to kiss her, and nearly proclaimed her love for him twice (And successfully once), it is clear that she loves Jimmy and is only smitten with Timmy.
  • This is the only other time Dr. Sydney Moist is featured aside from the episode "The Evil Beneath".
  • This is the first time we find out who Sheen REALLY wants to be best friends with: Morgan Freeman.
  • This isn't the first time that Jimmy and Timmy fought together against Calamitous; they previously did so in the non-canonical Nicktoons Unite! when Calamitous stole one of Jimmy's inventions and used it in an attempt to conquer four universes at once with help from local villains (among them is Denzel Q. Crocker, one of Timmy's usual enemies as well as the villain of the first Power Hour).
  • The "In-your-face Dance" performed by Jimmy and Anti-Cosmo is similar to the dance performed by Jazz in the nicktoon Danny Phantom when she discovered Vlad's plot in Secret Weapons, and her mother Maddie when she beat her husband Jack in a checkers game.
  • When the anti-fairies come out of the wormhole, you can see the Anti-Tooth Fairy, Anti-Binky and Anti-Jorgen. Suspiciously enough, one of the anti-fairies looks exactly like Princess Morbucks from The Powerpuff Girls.
  • Originally, this movie's subtitle was The Battle for Cindy but got changed to When Nerds Collide.
  • Binky appeared in response to the emergency release button before it was pressed.
  • When Libby is seen playing her videogame, she is playing Ultra Sheen.
  • This is the first time we see Jorgen using a Jetpack since A Mile In My Shoes.
  • When Jorgen Von Strangle and Nathan edge got fused together it is similar to the Spongebob episode SquidBob TentaclePants.
  • In the end of the movie, Cindy knows Timmy is not a genius and she still likes him, though in the first movie, Cindy states she wouldn't like him if he weren't a genius.
  • The name is a play on When Worlds Collide.
  • Professor Finbarr Calamitous and Anti-Cosmo are locked up. This is the last appearance of it in the series.
  • At the start when Jimmy and his friends are getting the dance ready Cindy is holding a hockey mask. This is a refrence to Jason from the Friday the 13th film who always wears a hockey mask.
  • At the end, Morgan Freeman is seen dancing in Timmy's world.
  • Inventions seen in 2-D are the Brain Drain 8000, the Girl eating plant, and the Hyper cube.
  • Cindy, Carl, Libby and Sheen all make their first 2-D appearance on Dimmsdale, while Jorgen Von Strangle makes his first and only appearance as a 3-D rendered character on Retroville. Also Cosmo and Wanda also make their first appearances in 3-D.
  • Tito makes his first appearance. He reappears in Best In Show

[edit] Goofs

  • At the end of the film, the song playing at the Friday the 13th Dance was Chip Skylark's "My Shiny Teeth and Me", but the captions called him a "woman".
  • In the 3-D universe, Sheen's eyes are brown, but in the 2-D universe, they're a bluish color. Also in the 2-D universe his ultralord t-shirt is just a regular t-shirt.
  • Cosmo's and Wanda's wands did not work because of the fact that there were too many anti-fairies. But they were able to make the black cats and the other stuff that they used to distract the anti-fairies. Though it might be that they just couldn't poof away all the anti-fairies since there was too many.
  • When Jimmy finds Timmy and Cindy on the bridge, Cosmo and Wanda appear as swans. However, at the time, Timmy had lent them to Carl, Sheen and Libby.
  • In the 3-D world, Libby's shoes are brown but in the 2-D world, they're white.
  • In the first movie, Timmy wished to be in the best lab in the universe, which brought him to Jimmy's lab. However, when Timmy is trying to find a date, he says "no girl in this universe" would go out with him, then decides to ask Cindy, suggesting that Retroville and Dimmsdale are in two different universes. (This may not be a goof, as Timmy doesn't state WHICH Universe. Also, it is established Timmy is no genius, so it could simply be an intentional mistake to show his stupidity).
  • In Retroville, Cindy's eyes are green, though in Dimmsdale, her eyes are blue.
  • When Calamitous pulls the Girl eating plant out of the hyper cube it bites him, but it's supposed to do that to girls.
