School IP address Attention:

This IP address, 204.108.195.15, is registered to Owen J. Roberts School District [1] and may be shared by multiple users of an educational institution. In the case of institutions using proxy servers, this IP address may in fact represent many users at many physical computers.

For this reason a message intended for one person may be received by another and a block shared by many. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. In some cases you may temporarily be unable to create an account due to efforts to fight vandalism, in which case please see here.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider a soft block with the template {{schoolblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Note: In the event of persistent vandalism, anonymous editing from this IP address may be disabled for up to 6 months at a time while abuse reports may be forwarded to your school administration for investigation in case of long-term abuse by registered users.
This IP has been repeatedly blocked from editing Wikipedia in response to abuse of editing privileges. Further abuse from this IP may result in an immediate block without further warning.

[edit] Aaaaaand....

...you've been blocked. Bishonen | ノート 14:08, 23 February 2006 (UTC).

You have recently vandalized a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behavior. You're welcome to continue editing Wikipedia, so long as these edits are constructive. Please see Wikipedia's Blocking policy and what constitutes vandalism; such actions are not tolerated on Wikipedia, and are not taken lightly.

We hope that you will become a legitimate editor and create an account. Again, you are welcome here at Wikipedia, but remember not to vandalize or you will soon be blocked from editing.

If you feel you have received this message in error, it may be because you are using a shared IP address. Nevertheless, repeated vandalism from this address may cause you to be included in any future punishments such as temporary blocks or bans. To avoid confusion in the future, we invite you to create a user account of your own.

[edit] Apologies

Hey, um... this is a school (Owen J. Roberts). This IP is apparently shared between all machines. Yeah, we're not one user, and I don't know who the jackhole is. Sorry.

(Yeah, there are a lot of idiots here.)

I'm sorry too, but look at this stuff. How much vandalism? And what KIND of vandalism? Now compare with number of good edits. See what I mean? I'd really appreciate it if you'd contact somebody (IT director?) who can do something about watching the machines editing from this IP. Bishonen | talk 14:37, 11 May 2006 (UTC).
Well, would it be possible to allow editing from this IP if the user is logged in? I have a Wikipedia account that I could use (although editing while logged in seems to have issues in Internet Explorer - do you know what the deal is with that?).

Also, it just occured to me that this school uses Smartfilter (a major misnomer if you ask me), and that proxy could be interfering with our IP. --User:Alph Tech STUART

LET'S PLAY INTERNET DETECTIVE- "Mike Priot" is a freshman, so whoever's doing this is most likely a classmate. So, blame some idiot freshman.

You can edit from your account. BUT, every time somebody tries to edit anonymously from the IP, they'll trigger the fearful Autoblocker, and then you will also be blocked, for another 24 hours from that moment. Let me check... OK, no autoblock activated yet. You can edit, though I'm afraid I've no control of for how long, it depends on your anonymous "friends". Be careful not to activate the autoblock yourself (by editing logged out). And no, sorry, I know nothing, but nothing, of IE issues. (Use SeaMonkey!) Bishonen | talk 15:02, 11 May 2006 (UTC).

[edit] IP unblocked. YOU can help revert vandalism!

The block has been lifted because it was affecting good users. I guess we'll just keep reverting the vandalism. Please see below for how YOU can help. Bishonen | talk 15:56, 11 May 2006 (UTC).

Perhaps responsible students using this IP would like to help fix the vandal edits. If you're interested, this is how: click "User contributions" in the left-hand sidebar of this page to see a list of the edits. Go for the new ones, older edits will probably already have been reverted. Click on the "diff" button of an edit to see exactly what was changed in the article. If it was inappropriate, and is still the "Current revision", click on the previous "Revision as of time/date/month/year" link. You are now seeing the previous, hopefully, good version of the article. (Go further back if this is also a vandal version.) Do a tiny edit in it--an extra space between words won't show up on the page--and save. Vandalism gone. :-) Oh, and please write in the edit summary field that you're reverting vandalism!

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. andy 11:50, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
