Geogre has complained about metaphorical Procrustean beds before (info boxes, prose style, etc). This is  a literal bed of Procrustes: articles must be below an  arbitrary 32kb, on pain of the "Committee" getting out its scissors. No no no. -- ALoan (Talk) 14:46, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Why doth the Wikipedia search and  the Google search turn up different sizes? Mandan pulls up as 33.5kb in the Wikipedia search yet turns up as 77kb in Google? *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 15:16, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
To be fair, they are  talking about cutting articles up into bite-size chunks, not throwing content away, but it  is still rather difficult to do justice to some topics in 32kb. -- ALoan (Talk) 15:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

There is  no "being fair" about it. Chopping things up is throwing them away. I know it's incomprehensible to most of our editors, but some of us actually set up a thesis and  let it  guide the composition, relying on the reader to maintain a single argument throughout the article. Oh, with Quasar 99xSM03 or  something, it  might not be possible, but with an  overview article like Restoration literature, or  the ballooning, it's imperative. Geogre 17:10, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
