Žitište (Житиште) is a town and municipality in Central Banat District of Vojvodina, Serbia. The town has a population of 3,236, while Žitište municipality has 20,144 inhabitants.

In Serbian, the town is known as Žitište or Житиште, in Romanian as Jitişte or Zitişte, in German as Sankt Georgen an der Bega, and in Hungarian as Bégaszentgyörgy.

The name of the town derived from the Serbian word "žito" ("corn" in English). Its old name used in Serbian was Begej Sveti Đurađ.

Settlements with Hungarian ethnic majority are: Novi Itebej, Torda, and Hetin. The settlement with Romanian ethnic majority is Torak (Begejci). Ethnically mixed settlement with relative Serb majority is Banatski Dvor.
