توماس هاردي Thomas Hardy . 1840-1928 روائي إنجليزي ، كتب الرواية والقصة القصيرة والشعر كما كان من أنصار الحركة الطبيعية

تتميز أعماله بطابع معين ، حيث الشخصيات أسيرة مشاعرها وانفعالاتها ، كما تتحكم البيئة والأقدار في مصائر شخصياته.

تدور أحداث معظم أعماله في عالم شبه خيالي في مقاطعة ويسكس الإنجليزية.
