现代汽车公司(-{현대자동차 주식회사}-，-{現代自動車株式會社}-，Hyundai Motor Company)(KSE：005380)是一家韩国汽车厂商。它是2003年韩国最大、世界第七的汽车制造商。HMC在韩国东南沿海的釜山拥有世界上最大的综合性汽车制造厂。

郑周永在1947年创立了现代汽车公司和现代工程建筑公司，在1967年正式成立了现代汽车公司。1968年公司发布了第一款与福特汽车公司合作开发的车型“考蒂纳”。1975年发布了基于日本三菱技术开发的第一款真正的韩国汽车“小马”。1976年“小马”首次出口。1986年现代汽车开始在美国销售，“Excel”因其低廉的价格而被福布斯评为“十佳产品”。1988年公司开始依靠自己的技术研发车型，首款即为中级车“索纳塔”。

现代汽车曾因其质量欠佳，而常被视为低端、不可靠和操控性差。最近，现代已经开始检查自身的形象以期建立可靠的品牌。现代的努力似乎取得了成功，其汽车销量逐年攀升。现在，现代已成为美国增长最快的汽车品牌。更重要的是，从1998年开始，现代的母公司现代汽车集团在车辆的品质、设计、制造和长期研究等方面投入巨资，更在美国提出了10年或10万公里的保修。In 2004, Hyundai tied with Honda for initial brand quality in a survey/study from J.D. Power and Associates, for having 102 problems per 100 vehicles. This rating, for the Hyundai and Honda brands, is second in the industry behind Toyota when looking at grouped branding (Toyota would be ranked as Toyota, Lexus, and Scion together; Honda would be ranked as Honda and Acura together), but when looked at without grouped branding, Honda and Hyundai both tied for making the highest quality automobiles in the American market.

In 2006 JD Power and associates ranking, overall the Hyundai brand ranked 3rd, just behind Porsche and Lexus. And beating long time rival Toyota. The brand overall is ranked much higher than the average industry and resale value continues to improve, a comparable 2003 Hyundai Sonata sedan ranks just $2200 below a similarly equipped Honda Accord according to Kelley Blue Book Pricing 2006
