Peder Kristian Abildgaard, son till Sören Abildgaard, berömd djurläkare, född 1740 i Köpenhamn, död 1801, stiftade Köpenhamns kungl. veterinärskola (1773), vid vilken han utövade en betydelsefull verksamhet såsom lärare och direktör. Utom lärda avhandlingar utgav han en mängd populära skrifter i veterinärvetenskapen.
