Tool is a progressive metal group that was formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California, USA and was on a break after their third album Lateralus was released. It has been due to frontman Maynard James Keenan being involved with his career with his band project A Perfect Circle. However, the group has never actually broken up. The band has won Grammy Awards for Best Metal Performance in 1997 for the song "Ænema" and in 2001 for the song "Schism". Tool consists of four members: Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, Adam Jones, and Maynard James Keenan.
From March 2006 to date, Tool has released 4 albums so far (not counting Opiate and Salival). The band has recently finished recording their fourth album 10,000 Days, it was released on May 2, 2006.
