Rio Grande do Sul is a state of Brazil. It is all to the south. It has common borders with Uruguay to the south, and Argentina to the west. It has a very high standard of living. Its capital city is Porto Alegre. About 10 million people live in the state, which has a surface area of roughly 282.000 square kilometres.
