en: Rayons (yellow, numbered) and the capital city (red) of the unrecognized Republic of South Ossetia. The borders according to the Soviet ones. Rayons: 1. Dzau rayon. 2. Znaur rayon. 3. Tskhinval rayon. 4. Leningor rayon. The most part of the Leningor rayon is controlled by the central Georgian authorities, most of the other territories are controlled by separatist government in Tskhinval.

The light grey territory to the north is North Ossetia Alania Republic of the Russian Federation.

ru: Районы (жёлтые, пронумерованные) и столица (красная) непризнанного государства ru:Южная Осетия. 1 — Дзауский район, 2 — Знаурский район, 3 — Цхинвальский район, 4 — Ленингорский район. Значительная часть Ленингорского района контролируется центральной властью Грузии, остальная территория — властями непризнанной республики в Цхинвале. Серым залита территория Северной Осетии (в составе РФ). Тёмно-серые пятна — некоторые населённые пункты.
