[परिवर्तन्] Lets Continue improving Nepali Wiki
After more than a year of trying to improve and grow the number of articles in Nepali language Wikipedia, I am not so sure about the future of it. It has frequently been a target of vandalism and spammers trying to insert their links. But the major problem is the lack of active contributors.
Initially, I was very active, but not anymore. Though the concept of a comprehensive encyclopedia in Nepali language was very attractive to get me into contributing to it in the first place, I am losing interest in it. Besides, the attitude of other contributors are not so encouraging. Most contributors are just waiting to embed their names into the main page or other articles. Many do not even understand the concept of community-model of the Wikipedia. Some software developers are trying to insert free advertisement of their Nepali language software.
No one seems to be creating new articles or translating articles from other language Wikipedia. Unless we have lots of usable articles and collection of useful information, no one is going to benefit from this wiki. So, instead of just trying to embed your names, why don't you start to actually contribute to it and make this useful. If you are so desperate to be associated with this popular website, you will have more luck if you open your account and actually start contributing articles under your name.
We need more and more people to work on new articles and polish existing articles. We need contributors to spread word-of-mouth about this encyclopedia to attract intellectuals and experts to contribute on this. Lets not waste any more time and effort and actually create more articles and improve quality of existing ones. Thanks

- The number of articles, templates and categories is increaing at a rate that (I think) is faster than ever before. Good job dudes! We need to accelerate this rate. [परिवर्तन्] Creating a basic Nepali wiki?
- According to Metawiki [2], there are certain articles that should be present in all wikipedias. I think the list is very useful. Is it possible for us to focus it as the primary target and develop articles (at least stubs) on the given articles. Plus, I would like to know about the feasibility of adjusting the wikitopics (ज्ञान समूह) to make it more coherent with Browserbar and the hierarchy of list of articles. --युकेश 18:50, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
