[edit] Biography

My name is Nick Catalano, I was born on March 5, 1987 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I have lived in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin all of my life.

[edit] Education

I have attended Whitefish Bay schools throughout my entire life, graduating from Whitefish Bay High School in the spring of 2005

I entered Loyola University Chicago in the Summer of 2005 and remained there during my freshman year. In the middle of the spring term I had to leave the university for personal reasons, but I still consider Loyola my home school and will be returning in 2007. In the interim, I am attending the local University of Wisconsin Milwaukee campus, in hopes of attaining a high quality education that will transfer into Loyola. I look forward to taking classes such as State Politics about Wisconsin instead of Illinois, as I wish to stay in Wisconsin as a political worker.

[edit] Politics

While in high school I co-founded the largest High School Democrats organization in the State of Wisconsin. I assisted campaigns during the pivotal 2004 Election by organizing volunteers to attend events and canvas.

In the past I have interned with organizations such as the ACLU of Wisconsin, Dean for America, and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin during the 2004 Election to elect John Kerry.

[edit] School Board Run

In the Spring of 2005 I ran for a position on the School Board of the Whitefish Bay School District.

My platform was to increase the aid to minorities who entered the school district at a young age and later in their education did not keep up with their classmates, even though they were receiving the same high quality education. Having been in the system, I knew I would be a valuable asset to the district.

I garnered 440 votes, the last in the election, but the experience gave me the will to work in politics in the future.

[edit] Hobbies and Activities

Some of my past times include blogging on NickCatalano.com about my personal views, experiences, and random items I find amusing. I also enjoy contributing to Wikipedia, hopefully adding to the wealth of knowledge in my own little way.
