Sæll Smári! Varðandi heitið grannfræði, þá er mér ekki ljóst hvenær það orð var tekið upp. Hins vegar átti ég ágæta bók frá Almenna bókafélaginu, sem hét Stærðfræðin. Hún var gefin út eitthvað um 1964. Þar var þessi grein nefnd Stöðfræði. Ég gæti trúað að þetta hafi breyst um svipað leyti og tegrun fór allt í einu að heita heildun. Það gerðist líklega upp úr 1975. Fljótlega ftir það var ég að kenna kennslubók, sem hét Föll, afleiður og heildi, en það var í fyrsta skipti sem ég sá það orð. Meinlaust skot. Allir gáfu upp aldur sinn á forminu a = 2005 − F, þar sem að a er talan sem að þeir skrifuðu og F er fæðingarár þeirra. En þú gafst bara upp F, sem að neiddi alla til þess að reikna dæmið í hausnum. Fólki hættir til að skammast sín fyrir aldur, hver sá sem aldurinn er.. og það finnst mér leiðinlegt, þannig að þetta var saklaust skot á það að þú værir að fela aldurinn á bak við ártalið. Fix to use Special Pages instead of seperate index.php and such hacks.

This is trivial - in fact I begun using the special page, producing a Wikipedia patch.

The index.php mechanism is due to rewriting into an extension - I am not sure if there is an easy way to plug in an extension to make it appear as a special page.

Generally I believe an extension is a good way, though - the Wiki core engine is really bug enough as it is.

(Although I pretend I can understand a little bit of Icelandic, I certainly cannot write it).

Hello. Is the MWDublinCore extension still available? It looks like it may do much of what I need to implement in a project here. I have tried for several weeks now and just get a time out from the link to the extension. Thank you, much.

Just in case you are still looking for a way to build the tab within the extension, in MediaWiki 1.5, you can do the following in the file in the extensions directory:

In the setup function include the line:

$wgHooks['SkinTemplateContentActions'][] = 'metadata_tab';

Then build the tab

Thanks for the interest. Dunno where to reply to you, so here it will be. MWDublinCore is available here for now, I forgot to update the link after my server was relocated to a different hostname.

I haven't changed the metadata tab to your suggestions, but I like the idea. Perhaps I'll get around to it this evening or sometime. Anyway, I'm glad to know somebody's interested. Thank you very much for the code. Wasn't exactly what I needed, but it is the closest thing I have found so far! I played around with it some this morning and I think I have everything included in the metamain.php file now.

Hi there Jitse, Smári here from the icelandic Wikipedia. I'm wondering how you arrive at the number of math articles in Wikipedia? Did you count, or is there some automated script you're using to keep track? If so, could I procure it? The number is determined by an automatic procedure, but it's a rather complicated one. The main part of the work is done by en:User:Mathbot, run by en:User:Oleg Alexandrov. That bot goes every day through the en:list of mathematics categories (which is kept up-to-date by hand) and appends any new articles to the en:list of mathematics articles. My script only goes through en:list of mathematics articles and counts the number of articles in the list. The primary purpose of my script is to construct en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics/Current activity, which we use to keep track of maths articles. I don't mind giving you a copy of my script, even though it's a bit of a mess, but like I said, the counting bit is really trivial and the hard work is done by en:User:Mathbot.
