David Suchet

David Suchet (sündinud 2. mail 1946 Londonis) on inglise filmi-, TV- ja teatrinäitleja. Tuntuim roll on telesarjas "Poirot" nimitegelase, Hercule Poirot', kehastajana.

Alates 1976. aastast abielus endise näitlejatari Sheila Ferrisega, neil on poeg Robert ja tütar Katherine. Tema vanem vend John Suchet on endine telekanali ITN uudistetoimetaja, noorem vend Peter Suchet töötas reklaamiagentuuris Saatchi & Saatchi, seejärel turundusettevõttes Precision Data Ventures direktorina. Isa Jack Suchet oli sünnitusabiarst-günekoloog, kes koos Sir Alexander Fleminguga aitas välja töötada penitsilliini. Davidi enda sõnul oli isa rahulolematus tema erialavalikuga üks põhjuseid, miks ta pühendab end igasse rolli suure pühendumusega, otsides isa heakskiitu. David Sucheti vanaisa oli läti ettevõtja, kes muutis nime Suchedowitz ümber Suchetiks. (Teistel andmetel oli tegemist valgevenelasega, kelle nimi oli Suchinski). Tema ema oli prantsuse päritolu näitlejanna Joan Suchet. Emapoolne vanaisa oli kuulus fotograaf James Jarché.

David Suchet on õppinud näitlejaks Londoni Muusika- ja draamakunsti akadeemias (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). 1973. aastal liitus Royal Shakespare Company'ga. 1970. aastate algusest mängis väikerolle teleseriaalides. 1980. aastatel tegi esimesed filmirollid ja jätkas teleseriaalidega.

Aastal 1985 mängis muuhulgas Agatha Christie kirjutatud raamatu põhjal loodud telefilmis "Õhtusöök kolmeteistkümnele" politseiinspektor Jappi. Hercule Poirot' rollis oli tookord Peter Ustinov.
