Isaac Hayes

Isaac Hayes nació en Covington, Tennessee, el 20 de agosto de 1942. Es un compositor, cantante, actor y productor estadounidense.

Su voz clara y potente le hizo catalizador de la explosión Stax en los 60; autor de himnos como Soul Man, inventor del soul sinfónico con Hot Buttered Soul (1969) y primer afroamericano en recibir un Oscar a la mejor banda sonora por la película Shaft (1971), que inauguraba el subgénero de la blaxploitation.

Fue el creador del sonido Memphis, allá por los años 70, y uno de los primeros en adentrarse en el mundo del rap.

En el año 2001 colaboro en el disco Songs in A Minor de Alicia Keys con la canción "Rock With U".
