The Zurich Chamber Orchestra (Das Zürcher Kammerorchester in German) is a chamber orchestra based in Zurich, Switzerland. It was founded in the 1940s by Edmond de Stoutz.

It performs around the world with internationally renowned soloists and has recently built up a considerable discography. It consists of a core of 23 strings and 20 other occasional musicians (woodwinds, strings, brass, harp, percussion, and keyboard).

The orchestra presents approximately 40 performances in Zurich each year, in addition to performances elsewhere in Switzerland and abroad. In 1996, Howard Griffiths assumed the post of Artistic Director. Its music director since 2006 is Chinese conductor Muhai Tang.[1]
