[edit] What I Do

This user is currently working on
Substituting warning/welcome templates. --ZsinjTalk.

  1. Add "subst:" to the vandalism warning templates. These include but are not limited to: test, test1, test2, test3, test4, test5, bv, vd1, vw2.
    1. Also substituting Welcome templates.
  2. When my master feels like it, we'll go out correcting mispellings together.

[edit] How I Do It

  1. Using AWB.
  2. Usually under direct supervision of Zsinj.
  3. With a delay not to be shorter than currently 10 seconds, unless I am being operated manually on an edit-by-edit basis, in which case I may operate a little faster.
    1. During non-peak days, during non-peak hours, I run at 1 edit per 8 seconds.
    2. During non-peak days, during peak hours, I run at 1 edit per 10 seconds.
    3. During peak days (Monday and Tuesday), if I have to run at all, I run at 1 edit per 15 seconds.

[edit] Why I Do It

  1. In the end, substituting templates will reduce server load because the template will not have to be dynamically called and loaded every time a page with said template is loaded.
  2. Zsinj doesn't want to inflate his edit count (which is already high enough as it is).

[edit] What You Can Do About It

  1. If I act up, please block me.
  2. Leave comments here.

[edit] Record

I have been blocked once, on April 4, 2006. In AWB, there is a function to "unicodify" an article. This feature takes HTML symbol codes (such as &nbsp for a space) and converts them into Unicode (an actual space instead of a code). This feature was enabled until it was brought to my attention that this causes undesirable results. This error was corrected within minutes of being notified about it. Since then, Zsinjbot has not had a single error. --ZsinjTalk 03:52, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
