From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 1632, Zingua became queen of Angola upon her reported assassination of her brother. As queen, obtained a large, all male harem at her disposal. Her men fought to the death in order to spend the night with her and after a single night of lovemaking they were put to death. She converted to Catholicism at the age of 77.

Zingua was cited in Marquis de Sade’s The Bedroom Philosophers as a woman who "immolated her lovers." De Sade also cited the reference History of Zangua, Queen of Angola in this writing.
