Zhang Yan (張燕) was the bandit leader of Heishan. He assisted Gongsun Zan at the Battle of Yijing. At one time, Zhang Yan led an army of 10,000 men and surrendered to that of Cao Cao. After Zhang Yan's surrender, he was appointed to the rank of "2nd North General", and was ordered to secure his current northern position.
